IPad or wait for IPad 2

I must admit, I’m tempted to buy an Apple iPad. However, it could be prudent to wait a while. Maybe until the iPad 2 arrives.

Apple has achieved wonders with the iPad, of that there is no doubt. The design is fantastic, as it always is with Apple devices; the UI is both familiar and easy-to-use, even by a 2-year-old;
iPad apps are already showing promise, and look set to be as important to the Apple tablet as they are to the iPhone and iPad Touch.

However, if Apple follows its usual pattern, and there’s no reason to suppose otherwise, the iPad 2 will be with us by early next year. So would it be better to wait for the iPad 2? Possibly, and here is why…

The iPad 2 will likely be cheaper, lighter, have a better battery life, and have more features. Many of the disappointing aspects of the iPad will likely be fixed. The iPad 2 will have multitasking capabilities straight out of the box.
The addition of a camera is almost guaranteed, and is likely one of the things Apple purposely held back from the original iPad. The other big advantage to waiting is that you’ll get an idea of what the competition is doing.

After watching The Social Network I came to the conclusion that all tech-minded geeks has to have seen the following movies:

The Pirates of Silicon Valley

Good artists create. Great artists steal.
Pirates of Silicon Valley is about the History of Apple and Microsoft mainly.
This film is the semi-humorous documentary about the men who made the world of technology what it is today,
their struggles during college, the founding of their companies, and the ingenious actions they took to build up the global corporate empires of Apple Computer Corporation and
Microsoft Inc.

The Antitrust

Truth can be dangerous. Trust can be deadly.
A computer programmer’s dream job at a hot Portland-based firm turns nightmarish when he discovers his boss has a secret and ruthless means of dispatching anti-trust problems. Antitrust movie is the fictional story of computer programming genius Milo Hoffman after graduating from Stanford and getting out into the competitive world of computer software. In his contemplation of where to begin his career, he is contacted by Gary Winston whose character is loosely based on Bill Gates. Winston is the CEO of a company called NURV, and they are on the brink of completing the global communication’s system, Synapse. They need Hoffman to help them meet their launch date, so after much thought and with the full support of his girlfriend Alice, he accepts the job. Tragedy soon after strikes and Milo becomes suspicious of the company he has been wrapped up in. He learns that trusting anyone could be a mistake, and that nothing is as it seems.

het WK voetbal komt eraan, mooi moment om eens te kijken welke site we in de gaten moeten houden als het gaat om uitslagen.
Oké, ik moet toegeven dat voetbal niet echt een sport is waar ik warm voor loop, maar ach het nationalisme neemt bij mij toe bij evenementen zoals het EK en WK. Dus dan moet ik natuurlijk bij blijven met de uitslagen.

De site footballfans.eu biedt perfect de mogelijkheid op uitslagen te volgen. Eigenlijk biedt deze site nog veel meer. In de tijd van social networks/communities is dit een perfect voorbeeld van hoe informatie wordt aangeboden voor (in dit geval) voetbal fans. Niet alleen de uitslagen, maar ook de beleving die een voetbal fan heeft met bijvoorbeeld de club komt hier voor tot zijn recht.

Zelfs foto’s tijdens wedstrijden kunnen ge-upload worden en zo deelt iedereen de beleving op dat moment.
