On November 5th Android will celebrate its 5th birthday. To celebrate this Google developer- and technology user group leaders in Europe have announced the “V Hack Android” hackathon<\/a> (pronounced “We Hack Android”).<\/p>\n

“V Hack Android” Dutch edition<\/h4>\n

I’m happy to announce that together with the Dutch Android User Group<\/a>, Google Developer Group Netherlands<\/a> and Appsterdam.rs<\/a> I’m organizing the Dutch edition of this international hackathon where teams of exactly 3 people (2 Android developers and 1 UI\/UX expert) will work on a new Android app in a to-be-announced theme.<\/p>\n

So what to expect..<\/h4>\n

The “V Hack Android” Netherlands hackathon will be held in the weekend of Friday 14th – Sunday 16th of September.<\/p>\n

Preliminary schedule (subject to change)<\/p>\n

Friday<\/em><\/p>\n

  • 19:00 – 21:00 Opening scrum with drinks & snacks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Saturday<\/em><\/p>\n

    • 10:00 Opening hackathon day 1<\/li>\n
    • 13:00 Lunch<\/li>\n
    • 18:00 Dinner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Sunday<\/em><\/p>\n

      • 10:00 Opening hackathon day 2<\/li>\n
      • 13:00 Lunch<\/li>\n
      • 16:00 Demo’s and votes<\/li>\n
      • 18:00 Drinks and snacks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The winning Dutch team will be chosen by an independent jury. After this weekend the winning team can request support of the whole Dutch Android community to improve their app!<\/p>\n
